OCS Family Foundation

Charitable foundation

As a family business, OCS has always fostered an ethos of caring and responsibility. Over the years, the company has supported a range of good causes. On an individual level, many of our people are involved with charities and their communities, as volunteers, trustees or fundraisers. Every marathon, bike ride or cake sale is an important reminder of the many great causes they support.

We have now created a charitable foundation, with the aim of bringing even greater benefits to the communities we live and work in. The OCS Family Foundation acts as a focal point for our staff’s talents and their passion to make a difference. The Foundation is a registered charity in its own right, but shares and embodies the OCS core values of building relationships, having a can-do attitude, taking care of our environment, embracing innovation, and valuing sustainable solutions.

The OCS Family Foundation has a strong focus on tackling social and economic disadvantage by building people’s capacity and skills. It is not a traditional grant-making organisation, but seeks to develop vibrant partnerships, matching in-kind resources with opportunities to make a positive, lasting difference. It also supports the development of research and thought leadership. Over time, the work of the OCS Family Foundation will extend beyond the UK to reflect the global reach of our company.

Chance to Shine

OCS gives young people a Chance to Shine

OCS is proud to support the Chance to Shine Final, where each year children from schools in Surrey and London spend a day playing cricket at The Oval.

The scheme, set up in 2005, recognises the power of cricket to help young people to acquire important skills, values and attitudes. It is part of an annual Cricket Foundation project to bring competitive cricket and its educational benefits to state schools and is delivered through County Cricket Boards across England and Wales. Each project provides a structure coaching and competition programmes for up to eight primary and secondary state schools.

As a continued supporter of the Chance to Shine final at Surrey County Cricket Club, OCS provides equipment and training for teachers and coaches, as well as lunch, t-shirts, goody bags and medals for the young cricketers.

Communities

OCS support for communities, charities and organisations

The family ethos which governs our operations means we make it part of our business to put something back into the communities in which we work.

We work with charities, NGOs and other organisations around the world to help support local communities. Throughout the past year, many individuals and groups have worked together to raise money or provide support to a variety of charities and organisations.
